| I've been getting muscle magazines since 1998 up until about a year ago. There were a lot of routines in there, BUT they were too complex and involved cabling and other stuff.
I only have a Weider freeweight bench, two barbells, one EZ curl bar, dumbbells of different pounds, and plates of different pounds.
One thing that I cannot do are squats and deadlifts, etc. Doctor's orders. I have a herniated disc in my lower back and therefore can't train it with heavy weight lifts and I'm ONLY 27 years old. Is there anything I CAN do to train my legs (quads and hamstrings) and my lower back????? If so, that would be great.
Yesterday, for instance, I did upper pecs, EZ curls, and calves (I just hung the barbbell in front of me and stood on my toes and then back on my heal and repeated). Today, I'm going to do cardio.
I'm looking forward to seeing what people have to say. Thanks!
P.S. I'm 6 feet 5 inches tall and I weigh 200 pounds (I don't know what those are in meters and kilograms) _________________ "I have nothing to say. I just want to eat my cake." --Lou Ferrigno (Pumping Iron) |

| I've been working out at home until recently and while I didn't have to keep things 'light' due to injuries I was forced to keep it light because I didn't have a lot of weights.
Besides Leg Extensions, Leg Curls, Lunges and Stiff Legged Deadlifts I had started doing Barbell Hacksquats which is a little ackward to start with but once you get the hang of it, it wasn't that bad. I wasn't doing regular squats because without a stand or rack, having to clean the bar up over my head to start with and back to complete the set wasn't allowing me to push it too hard. Front squats were another common exercise too.
Another option I used to get around working with lighter weights was to keep the rests low and include dropsets into my routine.
As long as you're working your muscles to absolute failure and keep your proteins high, what options do you give your muscles?
