MEMBERSHIP & CONTEST INFORMATION
INTRODUCTION
The International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA) was founded in 1991 by Wayne McDonald to combat drug use in bodybuilding. In 1991 the organization was known as the Australian Natural Bodybuilding Federation (ANBF). In 1999, the ANBF joined some thirty other Countries to change their name to the International Natural Bodybuilding Association. For the first time, athletes can compete with the INBA in a drug free environment where the emphasis is placed on achieving physical perfection through correct nutrition and exercise - a body everyone is capable of achieving. The INBA provides a ‘level playing field’ backed up by a comprehensive drug testing program.

DRUG TESTING
The INBA requires athletes to be a minimum of five years drug free to be eligible to compete. The INBA has a three pronged drug detection system. Members of the INBA are drug tested not only at the event by either urine analysis or polygraphing (lie detector) but also throughout the year by the Australian Sport Drug Agency (ASDA), the same body responsible for testing our Olympic athletes. Competitors are randomly selected each month for an on-the-spot drug test. The INBA drug testing is backed up by a comprehensive drug policy, capable of standing up in a court of law. INBA members who do not pass the tests face harsh penalties - a life ban in most cases!

JUDGING FOR BODYBUILDING

Round One: Muscularity
1. Front Double Bicep
2. Front Lat Spread*
3. Side Chest (any side)
4. Side Tricep (any side)
5. Rear Double Bicep
6. Rear Lat Spread
7. Abdominal and Thigh
* Women bodybuilders do not perform the Front Lat Spread.

Round two: Symmetry
Competitors stand facing the judges and turn four times. Facing front, quarter turn to the right, quarter turn to the rear, quarter turn to the other side, return to the front.

Round Three: Posing
Competitors pose to their own music for a maximum of 90 seconds. There are no restrictions in Round 3, Props, etc., may be used. As steroids are not used to enhance physiques, competitors are therefore allowed to use props.

Each round has equal value. Judges place all competitors from first to last in each round. These scores are fed into the computer scoring program which deletes the highest and lowest score in each round for each competitor and calculates overall placings using the above percentages.

CONTEST DIVISIONS
A contest normally consists of eleven divisions:

Women:
1. Ms Fitness
2. Fitness Model
3. Women’s Figure
4. Bodybuilding
5. Senior Bodybuilding (40 years and over)

Men: Bodybuilding
1. Senior (40 years and over)
2. Teenage (19 years and under at 1January)
3. Junior (21 years and under at 1January)
4. Novice (Never competed in any contest)
5. Intermediate (Not won a higher ranked Title)
6. Open

CONTEST STRUCTURE
Level 1 Non City Title i.e. Southcoast Physique Title
Level 2 City Title i.e. Sydney Physique Title
Level 3 State Title i.e. Qld Physique Title
Level 4 Australian Title
Level 5 International Title i.e. Natural Olympia
Level 6 Professional Title

Ms FITNESS
The INBA has purchased the rights to run Ms Fitness® in Australia. The event aims to choose a role model of fitness, a competitor who embodies strength, poise, beauty, charisma and talent. The competition consists of 3 scored rounds - Fitness, Physique (bikini), and Presentation (dress round). During the fitness round, competitors display all aspects of fitness; strength, endurance and flexibility incorporating their sporting/fitness background such as dance, gymnastics, bodybuilding, martial arts or aerobics. The Fitness Model division is the same but without the fitness round.

The concept of Women’s Figure is to express more femininity than is done in bodybuilding. High heel shoes must be worn and hands remain "open" during posing. Jewellery and hair decorations are allowed. Figure is judged using the same rounds as bodybuilding.

INBA REGULATIONS

BACKSTAGE:
Each competitor is allowed one "helper" backstage. You will receive a backstage pass at registration for your helper. However, the helper still must pay admission to the contest. Usually you will be required to bring our own weights to pump up.

BOARDERTOWN:
Members who reside close to State boarders can choose which State they compete in and for.

CANCELLATIONS:
A division may be amalgamated with another if less than three competitors register.

DRESS:
No restriction on colour or design. G-string and patterned posing costumes are allowed.

ENTRIES:
You are required to enter a week prior to the event. No entries are accepted on the day. This policy is necessary because the INBA gives each entrant a competitor trophy. Furthermore, the appropriate drug testing has to be planned, competitor details entered into the computer scoring program and we like to have all competitor names and details printed in the contest program.

ELIGIBILITY:
1. To compete in a City title and under, members must have lived permanently in the State for at least the past six months.
2. To compete in a State title, members must have been living in the State permanently for the past twelve months.
3. To compete in the Australian titles, members must be an Australian citizen or have a work or residency visa. However, only Australian citizens or aliens who have lived in Australia for the past five years can win and receive the title of INBA Mr/Ms Australia and represent Australia. If a non Australian citizen processing the work/residency visa required to compete does win the Australian championship, they will be given the Overall Australian Title and the runner up will be awarded the Mr/Ms Australia title and represent Australia.

INTERNATIONAL:
All members of the INBA are eligible to compete in INBA International contests. Currently, the Natural Olympia is the only event you must qualify for.

INVOICE:
Competitors must sign an invoice before competing stating they will pay for the cost of the drug testing if they fail. If the competitor passes the drug test, the INBA pays.

LINE UP:
To discourage the practice of late entries which complicates administration, program printing and trophy orders, first entry receives middle position on stage, following entries to either side. Late entries will be on the end of each line up in addition to incurring a late entry charge.

MEMBERSHIP:
You must be a Full Member of the INBA and registered on the Random Drug Testing Program to compete with the INBA. Associate Memberships are available for non-competitors who wish to receive member’s benefits. Membership is based on a calendar year, January - December and renewable at the beginning of each year.

MISCONDUCT:
Misconduct by a competitor will incur point deductions. Misconduct by an INBA member will incur a suspension from competing.

MUSCLE IMPLANTS:
Athletes with muscle implants or used intramuscule injections are not eligible to compete.

ONE DIVISION:
A competitor may compete in only one division. Repetition of competitors makes a contest boring and reduces its prestige. A common question is "Are we having a posedown of all the winners for an overall?" No. The Open division is for the overall title. If you believe you can win the overall title, you must enter the Open. In an Open contest that has height divisions, we will have a posedown for the overall title.

POSING TIME:
Competitors have a maximum of ninety seconds of posing time. Posing time begins with the first pose. Competitors have fifteen seconds of stage time both before and after this ninety second posing time. The sound technician will stop music exceeding two minutes.

PRIZES:
The INBA focuses on offering trips to competitors. Open male and female State winners receive a trip to compete at the Australian titles. The Australian male and female winners will be sent overseas to represent Australia in an International event.

PROPS:
Round three routines and props must be "simple" enough for anyone to reproduce. That is, props or ideas can not be of such an expensive or elaborate nature that their use would give a competitor an unfair advantage. Furthermore, there is a limit on "weapon type" props, e.g. guns, spears, knives, swords. If they are used only fakes or "dummies" are acceptable. Also, poor use of props attracts point deductions.

REFUSAL:
Members can refuse to participate in a drug test on the contest day or with the RDTP and incur no cost. However, a refusal is considered a positive test and liable to a life time ban.

REGISTRATION:
You will be given a registration time in your confirmation letter. At registration we will require everyone to submit their tape, collect their contest number, backstage pass and fill in a ‘special message’ form if desired.

ROUND THREE:
Competitors are allowed to wear jewellery and use props in their free posing. However, it is still a physique contest and a good physique is not disadvantaged by the judging system for not using props.

SIGNS OF DRUG USE:
Any characteristic associated with using drugs, i.e. bitch tits, will be treated as a serious flaw in a natural event and the competitor heavily marked down.

TROPHIES:
All competitors receive a trophy. If a competitor returns a positive drug test, the trophy must be returned to the INBA.

The OCB

http://www.theocbwebsite.com/

General Contest Guidelines

ELIGIBILITY

Athletes from any organization and any locality are welcome at any OCB event. Bodybuilding, Figure, Fitness Model and Body Transformation competitors are required to be current members of OCB to compete in OCB events. OCB memberships are $50 per year and are good for the month they are purchased through the end of the previous month of the following year (Ex. Membership purchased on 5/21/2007 is good through 4/30/2008 - Note: Memberships expire before the same show the following year. For example, if a show moved from June 11th to May 27th the following year, a one-year membership would expire prior to May 27th. A one-year membership is not valid for the same show more than once in a calendar year). OCB Members will receive a one-year subscription to Fitness and Physique Magazine, a publication that prints coverage of all OCB contests. OCB Membership forms are available in the Forms section of www.theOCBwebsite.com. Fitness competitors participating in OCB produced events are required to be current members of the IFSB (International Fitness Sanctioning Body), the Ms. Fitness organization. IFSB memberships are $50 per year and are good from the date of purchase through contest weekend of Ms. Fitness USA/Ms. Fitness World (held annually in early/mid September). IFSB Members will receive a one-year subscription to Ms. Fitness Magazine, a publication that prints coverage of Ms. Fitness events produced by OCB. IFSB Membership forms are available online at MsFitness.com. If fitness competitors participate in only the Ms. Fitness division, they only need an IFSB membership. They do not need an OCB membership in addition, unless they also participate in figure, fitness model or bodybuilding divisions.

Eligibility for the national level shows (U.S. Natural Spring Nationals and Yorton Cup Nationals):

There currently aren't any eligibility restrictions for national level shows. Pre-qualification at other OCB events isn't necessary at this time. The events are open to all regardless of past contest history and/or placements. There are divisions offered for all: Novice, Masters, etc. First time competitors are welcome. Anyone who wants to compete at the events can enter.

NUMBER OF JUDGE'S

All Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Model contests are to have an odd number of judges with seven being the minimum for IFPA pro qualifiers and five being the minimum for non-pro qualifiers. Ms. Fitness divisions require a minimum of four judges.

DIVISIONS

Divisions offered at events are based on age and level of experience. Divisions offered can vary from show to show. Check a particular contest’s entry form for the exact offerings at it.

Division Definitions:

Novice Division: Open only to those who have not placed first in any class besides Teen within any division in the same category (Ex. Figure) with any organization (with the exception of cases where first place was won in a class that only had one competitor in it). Eligibility is verified during polygraph testing.

Masters Divisions: Open only to those falling into the stipulated age range (ex. 40+ is age forty and over).

Teen Division: Open only to those who are age 19 and under.

Junior Division: Open only to those under age 23.

Open Division: Open to anyone regardless of age and level of experience.

Note: Promoters reserve the right to cancel divisions that have only one entry. Competitors have the option of participating in another class, or being refunded, whenever a division is canceled.

CLASSES

Formation of classes within divisions at a show is at a promoter's discretion. Promoters may elect to use specified height or weight ranges, or may form classes by splitting divisions into equal portions by height or weight based on total number of entries in a division.

Note: Height classes should always be used for Figure

IFPA Pro Qualifiers
Select events are designated as IFPA (International Fitness & Physique Association – www.IFPApro.com) Pro Qualifiers. The overall winners for Men’s Bodybuilding, Women’s Bodybuilding, and Figure* at these events become eligible for IFPA pro competitions.

Should a competitor who has previously won a pro qualifier win his/her class at an IFPA pro qualifier, the second place finisher in the respective class will have the choice to advance to the Open division overall judging. Should the competitor who previously won a pro qualifier win the overall, the pro card being offered at the IFPA pro qualifier can be offered to the competitor who placed 2nd in the overalls.

If urine test results come back positive for an overall winner at a pro qualifier, the competitor who was ranked 2nd in the overalls will be recognized as the overall champion and become eligible for IFPA pro competition.

*Given minimum event requirements are met. Minimum requirements are that Men’s Bodybuilding must have at least 20 competitors. Women’s Bodybuilding and Figure must have a minimum of 10. If turnout is less than the minimums, winners may or may not be offered pro cards. The IFPA makes the decision on whether or not winners can become eligible, based on quality of the winners’ physiques and their performances at the show (presentation, coloring, etc.).

DRUG TESTING

Drug testing screening methods used at OCB events are a means to determine eligibility. If competitors can not successfully pass any screening methods used, they will either not be allowed to compete if determined prior to the event (Ex. Polygraph test), or will be disqualified and be removed from official results if determined after an event (Ex. Urine test).

Competitors cannot have used any substances indicated as being banned for OCB competitions. All OCB shows will use at least one method of screening for use of banned substances. Testing can be via polygraph, urinalysis, or both at the discretion of the show's promoter.

IFPA Pro Qualifiers
OCB events that are designated as IFPA pro qualifiers polygraph all Bodybuilding and Figure competitors, and conduct urinalysis testing for Bodybuilding and Figure Open division overall winners (competitors are mailed a copy of their test results). Results from polygraph exams or urinalysis for other contests (whether for OCB or other federations) are not be honored.

Competitors required to be tested are responsible for ensuring they are tested at events. Polygraph examiners supply the OCB home office with a list of contestants tested after each show. Urinalysis results come directly to the OCB home office. If it's discovered any participants who should have been tested were not, they will be disqualified and removed from the official results. If any Open division overall winners do not provide a urine sample at IFPA pro qualifiers, eligibility to compete in the IFPA pro federation will be void.

Competitors participating in any Bodybuilding or Figure division are subject to mandatory screening methods in place for a show. Competitors participating in only Ms. Fitness, Fitness Model or Body Transformation contestants are not. However, note that forms of testing in addition to the required may be requested of select Bodybuilding, Figure, Ms. Fitness, Fitness Model or Body Transformation competitors at any OCB event at the promoter's discretion and expense. This could include polygraph, urinalysis, voice stress, blood, saliva, hair testing or other means of detection.

Competitors are ultimately responsible for substances they take. If urine test results come back positive for any banned substance, competitors are disqualified regardless of what may have been responsible for the positive result.

1.JUDGING SYSTEM

GENERAL GUIDE-LINES

As all International Sport Federations recognized by International Olympic Committee WFF-International organizes annual Official Championships:
· World Amateur Championship
· Continent Amateur Championship.
WFF-International organizes “Fit-Kid”, Model Fitness” and Aerobic Fitness” World and Continent Championships.
The Championships consist of two parts: Semi-Finals (no audience) and Finals (Show).

CONTEST RULES

Head Judge
The head Judge shall be qualified, experienced and able to conduct the competition and supervise the judging panel. The head judge will handle the communications between the judging panel and the competitors. The head judge will normally not vote unless there is an insufficient number of judges present.

Scoring Judges
The judging panel will consist of an odd number of judges with no less than five. Each must be qualified within his/her organization and must be screened by the WFF-International Judging Committee. Scoring sheets will then be scrutinized for competency and further judging assignments will be based on proficiency.

Scoring
The scoring procedure used will be of the placement system. The format is judging by selection – as opposed to a points marking system.
Competitors of each Category will be scored and placed by each Judge according to the judging criteria specified for each Category of Competition. Judging results are transferred to a “master sheet” to determine each competitor’s final placing. This is achieved by adding up the place votes of each competitor and recording the total.
Where five or seven judges are used, one high and one low score shall be dropped. When using a panel of nine judges, the two highest and two lowest scores shall be excluded in computing each competitor’s final placing. Ties will be broken by the lowest placing system not most first votes. This deduction is necessary to guard or eliminate judging bias and bad judging. After deduction the competitor with the lowest collective total will be declared the winner. If two or more athletes have the same number of firsts the judges chairman shall have the casting vote. If judges consider an athlete does not meet the required standard they have the right to eliminate the athlete from the contest.
The number of finalists in each category shall be recorded on a judges list of competitors. Three finalists of each Category is normally recommended. In Categories with a large entry this may be extended to six Finalists.
The use of bronzers, tanning lotions and crème, gels, posing oils or other high-lighting products is acceptable for both prejudging (Semi-Finals) and evening performance (Finals).
The competitor will perform the routine to her own music which must be on a CD.
A good quality CD should be used and the music should be at the beginning of the CD. It is to the athletes advantage to select the music piece which can dramatically enhance the free posing presentation. Words or lyrics on the CD must not contain profanity or be offensive.

DRUG TESTING

Requirements and procedures
WFF-International recognizes and follows IOC anti-doping rules and documents; WFF recongizes the WADA Anti – Doping Code and European Anti - Doping Convention.
WFF-International will conduct the most stringent and extensive drug testing analyses available at it’s Official Championships. All athletes must submit to a urinalysis test for each contest entered. The results must prove negative.
Competitors will be subject to disqualification from their placement in the competition and loss of their eligibility for competition in future Official WFF-International Championships after they failed urinalyses at drug tested event. Two year suspension.
