I am semi-new to this website. I created my username and password a while ago, but I didn't want to actually post until I had an avatar. And my avatar doesn't much speak for me. It just kind of speaks for my kind of humor.

I have been on anxiety medication ever since 1997. I tried to join the US Marine Corps infantry in 1997 when I was 17 but after going through all the tests I did submit to the fact that I was on meds. They said that I could come back in one year if I was off the medications for one year and I would be accepted. Well, I can't be off the meds for one week, let alone one year.

These meds, some of them worse over the years than the ones I'm on now, have just made me a total zombie. There's some years since '97 that I don't even remember what happened that year(s). Yeah, cry me a river. Anyway, they also majorly decrease my motivation levels. And I'm not just talking about BBing. I'm talking about everything.

Is there any advice anyone has out there that might help. I keep thinking: IF only the f'ing Marines would accept me w/ my medications, I could learn to think straight, focus, and maybe even get a bit more fit than I already am.

I'm pretty skinny. I'm 6 foot 5 inches and I weigh 200 pounds. My most muscular areas are in my biceps and triceps which I realize are really small muscles. I also have this problem that when I use free weights to do bench press, one pec tends to get majorly more muscular than the other. I don't know wtf is up with that.

I've been reading FLEX magazine since 1998 and stopped a few months ago because I realized they were just confusing me too much and I just had to stick to the basics, in terms of nutrition and exercises. Too many darn magazine ads that made me think I should buy this and that which thankfully I never did.

Any helpful information, non-bias, would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I don't have a lot of genetics. But, then again, I don't want to go pro or even enter amateur contests. I want to do this for myself and no, not for the girls.

Welcome schlierkamp27. What Christian says is true. There is a lot of bs out, and people who want to give it to you. Luckily, we have some very experience people here.

Oh and by the why, I do it for the girls, and a little for myself. mr. green
