I was meaning to purchase some ankle weights, and I do have dumbells that I use every now and when when doing cruches, but for some reason I don't feel much of a burn. I could be doing them all wrong. |
At least weights is what works for me .I'm not a big fan of doing long sets of crunches over and over ,I think it's useless ...well at least for me . I don't know what others think about that . I know a great champ like Serge Nubret used to train his abs an hour per day .He would do it as a cardio session ,at a high rate of speed ,without contracting too hard and without any rest .It definitely worked for him . Me ,I would go nuts doing an hour of abs every day . I guess you have to find what works for you

| Welcome Karen!! I agree that doing some weighted ab work might be helpful. Sounds like regular crunches and such have gotten too easy. Getting the abs to show means having a low body fat though. Even a great set of abs will be covered up if body fat is too high. _________________ www.sarahpersonaltraining.com |

| Welcome Karen! ...I agree Chris - to each of their own on abs, mostly diet will determine how the midsection is sculpted... whether it's high reps or a resistance workout IMO. _________________ www.topsupplementshops.com |

| | Thanks so much everyone!!! Weighted crunches it is, and hanging leg raises. I'll have to admit I don't do enough of those. What frustrates me is that I feel the abs under that layer of fat, and no matter what, I can't seem to burn off that last little layer. My diet is pretty clean, with the exception of a cheat meal on the weekends, so I'm not sure what it is. Maybe I have to do more cardio? |

Ever tried a topical fatloss gel ? I gotta say even though most of them sound like BS ,I tried a couple that worked for me .If you have a good diet ,that could do the trick . |

Actually no, I haven't tried one. I always thought they were BS but if you have a couple suggestions, please let me know. I'll try anything right about now. Thanks so much Christian! |

No problem . I've had some good results with Lipoderm-Ultra .But it depends on the kind of bodyfat you have :if it's Sub-Q/SAT fat (found directly underneath the skin ,the one you can pinch) and not VAT fat (the underlying fat beneath muscle) ,it should work . There used to be some better gels available but they have been discontinued . I don't know if anyone else here tried a topical fatloss gel and what results they might have had but they worked for me . One thing you should know is that the smell can be quite bothersome .Sorry about that . |
